For those looking for dimmers, there is a wide range of options available, with plenty of local variation too. When purchasing a new dimmer, it is always best to choose one designed for LED light sources. If the room in question already has an old dimmer installed (potentially a non-LED dimmer), it is worthwhile checking to see if it works; old dimmers do sometimes unexpectedly work with new lamps.
When it comes to dimmer issues, your first port of call should always be a local electrical expert. Unless stated otherwise, Secto Design’s lamps are dimmable, with models suitable for use with a range of dimmers. Only floor, table and wall lamps with built-in LEDs are not dimmable.
Normal pendant lamps that use bulbs are dimmable, provided the lamp is fitted with a dimmable bulb. Dimmable LED bulbs will indicate on the packaging that they are dimmable (either verbally or with an illustration).
Floor, table and wall lamps that use bulbs are dimmable using a separate dimmer, provided they are fitted with dimmable bulbs. Dimming capacity can be provided by either a dimmer fitted on a cable or a dimmer that plugs into a wall socket.
The Owalo 7000 and Aspiro 8000 lamp models are only available with built-in 3-step dimming. The dimming function can be accessed with a standard power button (light switch), with no need for separate extra parts. The light level is adjusted by turning the lamp rapidly off and on again. For both models the dimming steps are: 100%, 70%, 30% and 15%. After the dimmest level, it will return to the brightest level.
Lamp models Atto 5000, Kuulto 9100 and Kuulto Small 9101, which feature built-in LEDs, work well with certain dimmers, which are listed on this page. Floor, table and wall lamps with built-in LEDs are not dimmable.
Dimmers can often also be adjusted. If a problem occurs, it is worthwhile adjusting various settings to see if this helps. If you have tried this and the problem persists, please do not hesitate to contact your local electrical expert.
