GOOD DESIGN® Award for Varsi 1000!

We are proud to announce that the adjustable suspension arm, Varsi 1000, has won the prestigious 2016 GOOD DESIGN® Award! The rotating steel arm is designed for Secto Design by architect, designer Seppo Koho. Varsi 1000 was chosen among the several thousands of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and design companies by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. The focus was on picking the most innovative and cutting-edge products as the 66th GOOD DESIGN® Awards winners.

GOOD DESIGN® was founded in Chicago in the 1950 by modern design pioneers Edgar Kaufmann Jr., Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson and Rusell Wright. As of 2017, it is the oldest and the most recognized Awards programme for international design excellence.

Varsi 1000 is an adjustable suspension arm that enables the use of the already classic Secto Design pendants in a functional and inventive way. With the wall mounted steel arm the traditional pendants can be placed in any space regardless of the ceiling structure. The length of the arm is adjustable, it rotates 180 degrees, and also the hanging height of the pendant can be modified, which brings flexibility to the positioning of the lamp.
