Secto Design cooperates with Signify to bring adjustable colour temperature to your fingertips

Lighting can make or break the ambience of a space. Whether you prefer a warm, cosy glow or a bright, cool light, the ideal tone depends on the context and personal preference. Now, thanks to a game-changing innovation by Signify, the world leader in lighting solutions, there is a new way to customise lighting. Starting this fall, we are incorporating this innovation into our iconic luminaires – as the first lighting design company in the world.

Imagine effortlessly switching between five different colour temperatures, all with a simple flick of a switch at the base of the light bulb. It is now possible with the new Philips CorePro LED bulb that allows you to choose from five different options: 2700, 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6500 Kelvin, offering everything from warm, golden hues to crisp, daylight tones.

The colour temperature can be adjusted with a switch at the base of the light bulb before installing the bulb in the shade.

This development is not just about technological advancement, it is about creating the perfect atmosphere for every space. The architectural luminaires designed for Secto Design by Seppo Koho are known for their clean lines and elegant simplicity, making them a versatile choice for both public and private interiors around the world. However, the colour temperature requirements can vary greatly depending on the type of space and even cultural preferences.

With the new feature of the Philips light bulbs developed by Signify, the possibilities for interior decoration have expanded. Now, our customers can easily adjust the lighting in their homes, offices, or public spaces to suit their needs and tastes — without installing complicated systems. It is a major step forward in lighting design that perfectly complements our commitment to innovation, quality, and aesthetics.

Secto Design customers are always provided with a built-in LED or a suitable sample bulb while purchasing our luminaires. As they are exported to nearly 90 countries worldwide, finding a reliable lighting partner who could meet our high standards and global reach has been crucial for us. In Signify, best known for its Philips brand, we found an international partner for our global market.

By combining our handcrafted luminaires with the latest adjustable lighting technology, we can offer a unique experience to our customers. The new Philips light bulbs (E27, 8 W, 806 lm, dimmable) will be delivered with most of Secto Design’s E27-fitted models to the target markets with the 220-240 electricity system from September to October onwards. And when the complimentary sample bulbs eventually need to be replaced, customers will have no trouble finding them at their local retailer.

Kenneth Grönholm, CEO of Signify's Market Nordics, shared his enthusiasm: “This collaboration is just the beginning, and we are already planning new adventures together.” Tuula Jusélius, the founder of Secto Design, echoed his excitement: “It is great that the world-leading lighting manufacturer wanted to cooperate with a Finnish design company. Together, we can help our clients create just the right ambience in their interior”.
